Immigration grants a social visit pass through 1 December 2026 (90 days, counting the arrival day). Chris must leave Malaysia on or before that date unless an extension is approved in time.
Chris wants "another 90 days" after three days in Singapore from 2 December to 5 December 2026. Re-entry on 5 December is not guaranteed. Officers can admit Chris for a shorter period, or refuse entry, if they believe the true intent is de facto residence. MDAC must be filed again within three days before that re-entry.
How to plan a compliant Malaysia stay
Step 1. Submit MDAC on the official Immigration portal within three days before arrival. Save the confirmation.
Step 2. Check passport validity of at least six months beyond arrival, plus a blank page for the stamp.
Step 3. Photograph the social visit pass date the day you land. If the officer granted fewer than 90 days, use that shorter date.
Step 4. Do not start Malaysian employment on a social visit pass.
Step 5. If you need more than 90 days, apply at Immigration before expiry, or leave and use a proper long-stay pass. Do not overstay while "figuring it out."
