Elena, a US citizen, wants a long Greek summer after a spring in Italy
- Enters Italy on 1 March 2026, leaves on 30 April 2026 (61 days)
- Enters Greece on 15 June 2026 and wants 60 days on the islands
On 15 June 2026, the 180-day lookback still includes the full Italy trip. Adding 60 Greece days would bring the total to 121. Elena has about 29 days left, not 60. A week in Türkiye in May does not add Greek days, but it also does not delete the Italian days. Her earliest full 60-day Greece stay is after enough March days fall outside the rolling 180-day lookback.

Step 2. Check passport validity: at least three months beyond planned Schengen departure, and ideally six months so airlines do not deny boarding.
